Moved by the Impact of His Gift, Grandfather Increases Donation to Children’s Specialized Hospital

Greg Ruffa

Meet Greg Ruffa, a longtime New Jersey resident, successful entrepreneur, artist, father and grandfather. Greg, 98, has dedicated his life to his family, his business, his community and his country. Like you, Greg understands the importance of giving back and he chooses to do so by supporting children with special healthcare needs.

Greg’s journey began in New Jersey, where he served in the WWII US Air Corps, raised his family and built a thriving advertising, design and printing business in Plainfield. Throughout his career, he cherished the support of his trusted colleague, Betty Trullinger, who tirelessly helped him to build and run his business for more than 55 years.

In addition to being a devoted assistant to Greg, Betty (VP) and her sister Phoebe (Queen City Bank, VP) both loved to volunteer at Children's Specialized Hospital. Earlier this year, Greg wanted to make a meaningful gift to honor Betty for her many years of unwavering dedication—he chose an organization dear to her heart, Children's Specialized Hospital.

In May, when the renovations were completed on the hospital’s new long term care unit in Mountainside, Greg came to Children’s Specialized for the first time. When he saw the beautifully renovated facility, he was deeply moved. The thoughtful design and attention to detail made him realize the immense impact his generosity would have on the lives of children treated at Children’s Specialized. Overwhelmed, Greg increased his donation on the spot, knowing his gift would truly make a difference now and in the future.

By considering a future gift to Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation as part of your estate planning, you can follow in Greg’s footsteps and leave a lasting legacy of compassion and support. Your generosity will enable children with special healthcare needs to thrive and reach their fullest potential.
