Meet Emma Yin, a remarkable high school student whose passion for volunteering shines through in her volunteer work at Children's Specialized Hospital (CSH). Emma’s dedication is evident as she generously donates her time, talent and treasure to create memorable experiences for the children at CSH.
“I’ve had an amazing experience volunteering at CSH,” Emma shares. “Playing games and creating crafts with the kids is incredibly rewarding. They’re fun to be with and I love seeing them smile and have fun!”
Soon after starting her volunteer position, Emma took her commitment to the kids to the next level by becoming a monthly donor to Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation. But Emma wanted to make an even greater impact. Collaborating with her teen group, the Somerset 4-H Senior Council, Emma organized the inaugural “Children Helping Children” craft fair.
Her vision? Empower kids with artistic and crafting talents, and help them learn how to launch their own business. Emma’s young entrepreneurs ran booths at the craft fair, and all proceeds benefitted Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation.
“I encouraged many kids to participate and it was a great success,” Emma reflects. “Everyone learned a lot, had fun and we raised over $1,000! It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.”
Emma’s thoughtfulness, creativity and commitment to making a positive impact are truly inspiring.
